This video will explain: Unique tool for upgrading wired security systems: EOLR’s resistance measuring in MultiTransmitter

MultiTransmitter is a module for integrating third-party wired detectors with the Ajax security system.

The tool for measuring the resistance of EOL resistors allows to correctly configure the operation of the third-party detector without a multimeter when connected to MultiTransmitter. The instrument is available in Ajax PRO apps. The video above demonstrates how the resistance of the EOL resistors measurement tool works.

Knowledge of EOLs resistance is necessary for the correct operation of the detector. Due to incorrectly set values, the detector may give false alarms.

For example, updating the client's security system is necessary, leaving the installed wired devices. The installer needs to disassemble each detector and measure the resistance of EOLs to set the correct values in the Ajax apps. Resistances are given with an error, documentation may not be available, and resistance values may have changed over time due to temperature and other factors. In addition, the resistance value can be affected by the cable: length, material, and cross-sectional thickness.

Dismantling the detector and measuring the resistance with a multimeter takes up to 10 minutes per device. With this tool, measuring the resistance of EOL resistors takes up to 2 minutes without the need for detectors dismantling. Thus, a professional saves about an hour when setting up a security system with 7–8 wired devices.
